This is me, right now. March 26, 2015. So gross. I don't know this person. Who are you? What happened? Get yourself together girl! I most likely weigh about 235 lbs. I'm a size 20 and I'm all stomach.

Some of my friends ask me why are you getting surgery? Other than the obvious heath reason. Here are a few other reason to reminder yourself why this is a good idea.
  • knee pain (my knees creek when I walk up the stars)
  • ankle pain, I can stand all day, this has just started happening with in the last 2 years
  • lower back pain
  • shoulder pain from heave breasts
  • cant run for more than a few steps
  • pre-diabetes
  • snoring
  • not sleeping well
  • don't like walking barefoot (need foot support)
  • sweat (a lot)
  • blood sugar gets low when I don't eat frequently
  • I think about foo a lot
  • I make bad choices when I'm hungry
But the number 1 reason why is because I don't love this person. I want to love me, loving being me inside and out. I look in the mirror or photos and I don't know who I'm looking at... its disgusting.

New Plan

2004 was the 1st time I ever thought about Bariatric Surgery. I was almost through the 6 month medically supervised diet when my PCP would not support me, after fighting with him and insurance I gave up. Over the years, I lost some weight, gained some weight, and gain more weight after getting married and having 2 children. About 14 months ago a co-worker told me she had lap-band and my fire was BACK! In March of 2014 I started the process again with Dr. Terry Simpson between April-October I did the work: dieting, psych-eval, and recommendation letter all set and ready to go. One problem my insurance type changed in July and no one check to see if Dr. Simpson was a covered doctor. Guess what... he wasn't!!!!! Now that my BMI is lower that what UHC required for surgery I freaked that I wouldn't get approved, but I kept trying. I sought a new (APPROVED doctor) Dr. Swain and he recommend Sleeve, not band. November-February was more forms, more appointments, and more letters. The good news is UHC let me keep my original diet plan for Dr, Simpson and was not required to "start over". FINALLY March 4th 2015 I got my approval letter and surgery is set for April 23rd.
Start BMI 40.3
Current BMI 39.2
Goal BMI 25.8

29 days...My life is about to change and for the better!

sucks!

I'm back. Did you miss me?

I have been drinking green tea and more water and I have moved my breakfasts from 7 am to 10am- I find this helps me to cut back on snacking

Here's something interesting we as a Nation are so lost regarding portions and proper eating that we now have weigh-loss packets for our dogs!
I have been under the weather and fortunately it has been a natural appetite surpressent. I have focused on small quantities and food a fuel not pleasure.
