Way behind but hey I'm sick

Lets start with today

Breakfast-2 cups coffee with cream, a whole wheat English muffin with 2 slices turkey and 1 egg

1/2 glazed donuts at church and coffee with cream

Lunch: 1 slice pumpkin pie and coffee with cream

Dinner: pot roast (carrots, potatoes, onions) rice and stew

Ok- I really don't remember much after today- I'm so sick also I'm tired.

Thanksgiving was good I ate nice and balanced for dinner but when it came to snacking and desserts I BLEW IT!!!!!!!! I ate dessert for 2 days straight it seems..... I'm so happy about it but I'm not surprised either.

I confessed to my Mom (and now you world) that I always have an appetite and I never feel full. This is something I will have to examine further.

ooohhh my

So the last blog I wrote was on Thursday? Oh my. Well what can I say, I have an 8 month old who wares me out, school, and family-- busy busy.

This weekend I went to a pre-Thanksgiving dinner and ate everything, I did not discriminate: pie, turkey, stuffing, potato's, yams, rolls, green beans. I could have done better.

Not to mention, on Sunday Okey brought home a WHOLE lg. cinabon... I ate it! the whole thing! At one time! Not very sensible. And lets not forget about the Jack-in-the-box meal I had for lunch :(

I find I do better when I cook meals at home. There is so much more control over my food intake.

Anyway here's Today's meals....

Breakfast 2 cups of coffee with cream, 1 egg, and 2 tablespoons left over BBQ beef. 1 bowl of cereal.

Lunch: 1 can clam chowder, glass of milk and a granola bar.

Dinner: French bread pizza (sausage, cheese, onion, bell pepper, and tomato sauce) 1 serving chicken tortilla soup and a strawberry limeade (made from scratch)

bad stuff leads to more bad stuff

I was so wrapped up in my job interview and fixing up my resume that I forgot to post yesterday. Sorry world.

It was pretty mild yesterday except for the breakfast. I went to my friend Graces house for breakfast. I had 2 deviled eggs, 2 sausage patties, 1 croissant, coffee with cream, some jam, and fruit. It was all so yummy. I felt good to be treated to breakfast.

For lunch I had an apple, a glass of milk left over beef stew and a roll.

For dinner Okey made curry rice, with veggies and grilled chicken. I added some teriyki sauce on the side and I had a beer.

Later on I had 1/2 cup of ice cream with chocolate syrup.

Today (not so good)
I find that bad stuff leads to more bad stuff..... today was a total wash

For breakfast I had a bowl of cereal with 1% milk, coffee and cream. Lunch I had a carni asada burrito with water. (here's the funny part) "snack" I took the baby for a walk and ate a jelly donut and had a 32oz Dr. Pepper. Dinner I made BBQ beef sandwiches (on a wheat bun) with cheese. Bakes sweet potato fries (yum) and zucchini.

While eating the donut I thought about the book I'm reading, "The End of Overeating" by David A. Kessler. I just finished the chapter about chemicals that imitate flavor. (Chapter 23)I realized that raspberry "flavored" donut was just that flavoring not raspberries :(.

I really ate sugar, fat, and chemical flavoring.....how sad.

Things to Do.

Remind me not to send detailed information through SMS its only good for short conversations.

So here's the good news: I had chili dogs for dinner. Homemade chili, wheat bun and veggies on the side with a glass of water. The bad news: I had chili dogs as in plural. Also, I didn't so much as eat them as I did devour them. I didn't put my fork down and rest and enjoy eat bite. I just felt so hungry that eating fast was my only option. Something to consider huh?

Then later on around 10 pm I felt hungry again ( I dont think I was really) so I had a bowl of ceral. It was sweet and short and seemed right at the time.....

Anyway, here are my goals as we start this journey (so we are both on the same page).

1) develop a hungry scale so we both understand that eating, devouring, and inhaling are different levels.
2) Fill you in on this book I'm reading called, "The End of Overeating"
3) Develop my hypothesis and experiment for 2011
4) Understand the difference between portions and serving size

Oh, and thanks Okey for reminding me to dish out a serving of ice cream instead of eating bites straight from the container. (Thats a no-no).
Is not a portion... Ideas anyone?
It said 1 serving is 1 bagel @ 310 calories. What I need to figure out is how many portions are in this serving- bc I'm sure a whole bagel the size of my fist
This morning I had 1/2 a bagel with cream cheese for fun I took a look at the nutrition information which ill abbreviate as NI from now on.
Ok so last night after dinner I had 1/2 a large cookie which in terms of serving sizes I'm sure is a full serving plus I had a few bites on ice cream.

thoughts about food

Today I had what I considered a typical weekend breakfast. A piece of toast, 2 egg omelet with 2 slices of deli-turkey and cheddar cheese, and few potato slices and 2 cups of coffee with cream. Lunch I had some some homemade macaroni and cheese with pureed squash hidden inside it and yogurt fruit and granola and 8oz glass of 1% milk. For dinner I ate baked-ziti with sausage and a garden salad with water.

I felt thoughtful of what I was eating, how much I was eating, and the rate at which I ate. I didn't think about portions none-the-less I feel what I ate was not out of control portion wise. I feel my food choices today were relatively healthy. No stop at McDonald's for an ice cram cone (yum) or a soda.

No a side note I didnt have anther cup of coffee with cream while at church and I did seek another helping of yogart as a snack....Thats not too much
